1 Introduction of Diamond
Diamond is the highest hardness one among known materials. But it is scarce in nature and with high mining cost. Therefore, it is of great significance to vigorously develop artificial diamond and its products.
At present, the performance of high-quality large synthetic single crystal diamond has approached or surpassed that of natural single crystal diamond in some aspects. Due to the scarcity of natural diamond, synthetic diamond has gradually replaced natural one and it has been widely used in many fields, such as industry, science and technology, national defense, medical treatment and so on. As a unique product, synthetic diamond is the best choice material for cutters and blanks.
We can get from the table that the larger the size, the higher the quality of single crystal diamond, the more its application in high-grade, precision, and advanced fields and the greater its value.
Application scope
The diamond industry chain consists of graphite, single crystal, micro powder, PDC, and diamond products from top to bottom.
Currently, about 50% single crystals are used to manufacture sawing tools, in China. PDC can be used for oil drilling, mining, cutters and drawing die blank, according to the different application fields.
